Technical Design

I also love working behind the scenes, primarily in design and stage management, but I also love learning new things and taking on new projects!

Assistant Scenic Designer

As the assistant Scenic Designer for our production of Much Ado About Nothing I did a lot of assembly for the set and also figured out a lot of the practical design elements such as painting the walls and helping figure out the best brick texturing technique for the floors. I also helped build the stairs and the lattice columns, along with installing them into the space.

Concept Scenic Designs

Here are some concept designs that I made using Vectorworks. For Pop Justice, I was challenged with a thrust stage type and figuring out how to best work around sightlines while still capturing the essence of the show. For the Come From Away design I pushed myself by creating my own furniture pieces and designing fluid/adaptable set pieces that actors could easily move since there aren't transitions built into the script.

Concept Makeup Designs

Here are various makeup designs that I put together. Many of them were exercises in different techniques that are often seen in a theatre setting, such as fur and gore. I also designed some to bring a more animated look, using sharp lines and different blending techniques to bring a 2D appearance to a 3D face.

Stage Management

As the assistant stage manager for The Shady Lady: A Robust Blend of Privilege, Influence, and White-Collar Crime, I took blocking notes, and line notes. I also ran the hazer/fog machine during the fire sequence. During intermission, I went on stage dressed as an office janitor to sweep banana bread crumbs out of the carpet. Before and after every performance I reset the space, vacuumed, and accounted for all of our props. I also was an assistant stage manager for God of Carnage and was in charge of line notes and prop handoffs, I also assisted in baking a clafouti every night of the production.
